Our school production for 2019-20 was Mary Poppins. Students excelled themselves in their roles in acting, music and behind the scenes. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience over three nights.
Stanchester Academy Edge students hosted a Science Fair in the schools Science Department. Students were on hand to perform various experiments and discuss their displays to visitors.
Year 11 Art and Photography students enjoyed a trip to London to take photographs and sketch at the Tate Modern and London Zoo. They also had the opportunity of visiting the acclaimed Body Worlds exhibition.
Stanchester Academy opened their garden and allotments to the public in conjunction with St Margarets Hospice Open Gardens event. Visitors were given guided tours by students, and given details of the various items growing. Tea and cake was also served.
GCSE Results Day 2020 was certainly very different to that of previous years. The school opened for students and their parents to arrive at the allotted times to collect their results to keep to the social distancing guideline. It was certainly an emotional time for students, teachers and parents.
Open Evening for transition students. Departments organised various activities and displays for students to watch and take part in. Members of staff were on hand to answer any questions.
#HelloYellow for World Mental Health Day. Throughout the day students across all year groups learned about various aspects of mental health. Staff wellbeing was also looked after by the introduction of their (cuddly) therapy dogs. Students dressed in the traditional yellow of #HelloYellow.
Our Year 11 enjoyed their last day which was very emotional. Good luck Class of 2021, we wish you all the very best in your future journeys.
