Following careful consideration and in consultation with Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, the school will be closed on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June due to the Met Office Red Weather Warning for extreme heat.
This level of warning indicates a risk to life and significant disruption. We have assessed conditions on site and determined that it would not be possible to maintain a safe environment, as temperatures in classrooms are expected to exceed safe levels, increasing the risk of heat-related illness.
While this decision has not been taken lightly, the health, safety and wellbeing of our school community must come first. We appreciate your understanding.
Free school meal vouchers will be issued as usual.
Students will be set work via Microsoft Teams over the two days, including independent tasks and recorded lessons.
