Uniform Policy and Required Equipment

5 January 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

Uniform Policy and Required Equipment

As we start the new term, I wanted to express my personal thanks to all of the families for your ongoing support ensuring your child/children are suitably equipped and dressed for school. The vast majority of our pupils show pride in their uniform and understand the value having a formal dress code in a place of education.

Earlier this academic year, the Academy sent out a letter requesting a small number of changes, most notably school shoes. For the majority, the school granted a deadline of the Christmas holidays to source and switch into smart black leather shoes. I am pleased to say that many have already made this change and we are very grateful to all families.

For the start of the new term, we require all pupils to be in the correct footwear. Black Nike Air Force Ones, Converse or training shoes will no longer be accepted on site. Pupils will be given the option of changing into some temporary shoes provided by the school or will require their appropriate shoes to be brought into school.

Please note that we are aware of a small group of individuals who have permission to wear other shoes based on medical evidence and these pupils will be given a small uniform card to present to staff if questioned.

Our tutors and pastoral team are on hand to support pupils and families with uniform and equipment checking these each morning and ensuring all pupils are rewarded for their excellent presentation and organisation.
