Parent Update 26 November
26 November 2020
Firstly, it has been wonderful to have a full cohort of students in the building as we welcomed back students who were self-isolating this week.
The launch of our new, graduated behavior policy has been successful in sharing our clear expectations with students. We have enjoyed watching how they rise to these high standards and teachers have been able to give lots of rewards out this week. There have, of course, also been consequences for poor behavior which students have understood and accepted with mature attitudes. I am pleased and proud to see lessons that are productive and social time being spent safely and sensibly.
Our drive for excellent outcomes will be a result of following our 6 Cs, especially in showing a commitment to learning. An example of Stanchester students’ excellent commitment to their learning is their attendance to our online Science tutoring programme: “Get Ahead in Science”. More students from Stanchester Academy joined on Monday than any other school in the Trust! This opportunity is free and available to all students in years 9-11. They can speak to their Science teacher for more details.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your support while I am in the temporary position of Acting Headteacher at Stanchester Academy. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know the students here and great to speak with so many of you during the last fortnight.
If you have any feedback, questions or would like to get in touch with me, please contact the office.
