Parent Update 19 March
19 March 2021
Firstly, I would like to extend my thanks for your support, comments and feedback as we have returned to school. I know both students and staff are proud to be a part of the Stanchester community and it is wonderful to see students so focused and engaged in their learning across the school. I am especially proud of our Year 9 and 10 students who have embraced the challenge of their Knowledge Organiser quizzing during tutor time and their lessons.
I am also incredibly grateful to our staff who, this week, organised a remote Year 5 WOW day! Students across our primary schools were able to learn Science, Business, Art and MFL through a mixture of live and recorded lessons and demonstrations. We may be working in unusual times, but we are willing to keep adapting and working hard to give all students a great education.
Today, students have received their Home Testing kits to enable them to take lateral flow tests for COVID-19 at home. Please click here to view all the details in the information booklet. This can also be viewed in the blue leaflet that accompanies the test kits. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the lateral flow tests, please do get in touch.
For Year 11, the next fortnight is an important one. We are running a mock exam series to give students a chance to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired. We know this will mean hard work and dedication for students and we are here to support them every step of the way. Provisionally, the local schools and BTCT are suggesting Friday 28 May as Year 11’s final day at school where they will have their Leaver’s Assembly and celebration. I will be able to confirm this date with you at the beginning of the Summer Term.
